My name’s Vicky. I’m an illustrator who likes gin, loves to travel and struggles in heels.
In 2013 I traveled between Kathmandu and Istanbul via the Old Silk Road. Crossing the border between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan I was thoroughly searched and as an armed guard read my diary and rummaged through my backpack, she came across my sketchbook and pastels. What happened next surprised me, she drew me a picture. She smiled and gave it to me, and let me pass. Right there in the middle of the desert I realised the power of visual communication, and how - as cheesy as it sounds - a picture really can speak a thousand words.
Seeking the 'joie de vivre' in the everyday, I’m passionate about making work to charm and delight, and love to paint and draw at live events. I believe that memories make us; so let’s make them happy, let’s make them meaningful, and let’s make them last. Clients include Loughran Gallery, One Vintage Designs and Babushka PR.
